A 220 kV substation is a key link in China’s distribution network system, serving as an important interface between the high-voltage transmission system and power users. Its stable operation significantly impacts the entire power application.
The first step in designing a 400/220/132 kV power substation is to determine the load it has to cater and develop it accordingly. The substation is responsible for catering bulk power to various load centres distributed all around through 220 kV and 132 kV substations.
The 220 kV main transformer is the core equipment in a 220 kV substation. Its stable operation is crucial for the normal power supply of the entire distribution system.
Oil leakage is a common fault in 220 kV substation 220 kV main transformers, so it's important to check for it frequently. Specific inspection involves checking the oil temperature to determine the equipment's operation status and the cooling system's working status.
From the 220 kV bus, two 220 kV single circuit lines are drawn at 90% loading to supply power to 220 kV substations ‘b’ and ‘c’, working at a diversity factor of 1.35 to cater 112.5 MW each. Additionally, three 220 kV double circuit lines working at 80% loading feed substations ‘d’, ‘e’, ‘f’, working at a diversity factor of 1.35 to meet a demand of 200 MW each.
According to national regulations, the safety distance for a 220 kV substation is 10 meters.
