DC microgrid controller needs to carryout numerous control action including voltage and current regulation as well as energy storage synchronization . This review paper is inspired by the recent increase in the deployment of DC microgrid systems for real-world residential and industrial application.
The energy management system (EMS) in this paper is designed specifically for DC power storage in a microgrid with multiple different energy storage units, the charging and discharging of lithium-ion batteries and SCs are controlled by bidirectional DC–DC converters and the battery is based on two different droop coefficient algorithms.
This paper introduces an energy management strategy for a DC microgrid. The strategy involves a photovoltaic module as the main source, an energy storage system (battery), and a critical DC load. Efficient management of these microgrids and their seamless integration within smart and energy efficient buildings are required.
